An Update on the Classroom Technology Help Request Process
May 16, 2023
The Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) team is excited to provide you with an update on our ongoing efforts to enhance the support experience for our faculty members. In January of 2023, we shared the news that following a successful pilot program, we have deployed phones in every classroom to help you get classroom technology help quickly when you need it.
Since then, we have been meticulously working to ensure a smooth transition, and to facilitate this, we made the decision to keep the help buttons in place for an additional five months, allowing ample time for our faculty to familiarize themselves with the new system.
Now, we would like to inform you about an upcoming change that will take place on May 25. On this date, we will begin removing the help buttons from the orange campus classrooms. This removal will be accompanied by the elimination of the help stickers associated with them.
Moving forward, if you find yourself in need of classroom technology assistance, please follow the steps outlined below:
- Dial 6666 on the classroom phone.
- After 6666 is dialed, you will hear this message: “Your request for classroom support has been received, and someone should be returning your call shortly. You may leave additional details regarding your issue after the prompt, or simply hang up.”
After a few seconds, a technician will call you back to probe further and find out if they need to visit the classroom to troubleshoot the issue, offer help over the phone, or escalate the issue to another team.
We are thrilled about this change’s positive impact on your support experience, and we appreciate your patience and understanding during this transitional period. We remain fully committed to providing you with the highest level of assistance and support, and we are confident that the new process will exceed your expectations.
We are here to assist you every step of the way and ensure that your classroom technology needs are met promptly and effectively. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the Service Desk team.
