Leatherby Libraries Brings Huell Back to Life The book launch and signing for "Louie, Take a Look at This! My Time with Huell Howser"
April 24, 2017
Over 200 people visited the Leatherby Libraries on Saturday, April 15, 2017 for the book launch and signing of Louie, Take a Look at This! My Time with Huell Howser, by Luis Fuerte. Fuerte is the five-time Emmy-award-winning former cameraman for the widely popular Huell Howser show, California’s Gold.
The program started with a panel discussion moderated by Prospect Park Books publisher, Colleen Dunn Bates, and featured Luis Fuerte, and co-author, David Duron. Fuerte and Duron answered questions about the book they wrote together, reminisced about Huell Howser, and discussed specific episodes from California’s Gold. Both authors answered questions from the audience, and staid on afterwards to sign books and take photos with fans.
The main event took place in the Huell Howser Archives, while the majority of visitors watched the live stream of the event in the Center for American War Letters Archives.
The recording of the program is available to view on the Huell Howser Archives Facebook page. The program starts around the 00:38:00 mark, and ends around 1:38:00. Copies of Fuerte and Duron’s new book are also available to read in the Huell Howser Archives, located in the Lower Level of the Leatherby Libraries.
This event would not have been a success without Lauren Menges, archivist for the Leatherby Libraries, John Encarnacion, archive technician, their amazing team, and Prospect Park Books, the publisher of Fuerte and Duron’s new book.
