Under the leadership of Editor Michelle Thomas (’12), The Panther beat The Daily Bruin (UCLA), The Daily Titan (CSU Fullerton), the Los Angeles Loyolan, (Loyola Marymount), The Golden Gate Xpress (San Francisco State University), the University Times (CSU Los Angeles) and six others to claim top honors for General Excellence among 4-year universities in the CNPA annual awards, competing against dailies with much larger staffs, circulations andresources.

The Journalism Program would like to extend grateful thanks to President Jim Doti, Dean Jerry Price, Dr. Patrick Fuery and Dean Patrick Quinn for providing funds to send five Panther editors to San Jose to receive their awards this past weekend.
