In October, Chapman University will be hosting The Dyslexia Summit: The Strength of Cognitive Diversity, to help spread awareness about cognitive diversity and to showcase the remarkable strengths of many dyslexics. The Summit will include personal stories of university students with dyslexia and scientific analysis, followed by a panel of experts to discuss the topic and how universities can better work with students with this learning disability.

The Summit will start at 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. in Beckman Hall, Room 404 (Bush Conference Center) and will include speakers such as, Chapman University Chancellor Daniele C. Struppa, author of “The Dyslexia Empowerment Plan,” Ben Foss, Dr. Fumeko Hoeft (Professor UCSF Medical School “The Science of Dyslexia”), renowned Paleontologist Jack Horner, Chapman Professor of Creative Writing Richard Bausch, Dean of Education at Chapman Margaret Grogan and a panel discussion titled, Cutting to the chase: What every educator needs to know on cognitive diversity, with Michael Spagna (CSUN) and Claudia Koochek (New Head of Westmark School).

This event is free and open to the public, but you must RSVP.
