This summer History major Lauren Abel has been interning at Banning Museum in Wilmington as the Getty Multicultural Intern and her project has been to completely design the new exhibit for the Banning’s visitor center. This involved creating a detailed inventory list, researching over thirty pieces, their manufacturers, and the time period during which they were produced. From there she designed the entire layout of the exhibit including the signage, press releases, flyers, and a catalog that visitors can take home with them at the end of their visit.

“It’s been a long project, but it has proven to be a wonderful experience,” said Abel.

The official opening of the exhibit “The art that is life”  is on August 17th, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and will run through December 2012.
