On November 5, 2022, all Zoom clients will be mandated to update their software to version 5.8.6 or higher to comply with a new minimum update requirement. Also, going forward, Zoom will introduce a new minimum version every three months. This schedule will enforce the updated minimum version on the first Saturday of February, May, and July. Zoom will regularly support a given version of its software for at least nine months before it becomes considered “end of life.”

This change aligns with the technology industry practices and aims to help ensure that Zoom users have the latest features and security enhancements. While this release window will only require a minimum version of Zoom, additional updates may be needed outside of this window to address other security and compliance issues.
